Looks like our last minute fusible link fix is working. One of the vendors on here sells new ones but I can't remember which one. Perhaps someone else does and can chime in.
For the Toyota fusible link I’d think @ToyotaMatt

Got done with work and got the Baja rack installed.

@GLTHFJ60, Do you remember the pump settings you liked to run with the super? I know it's probably in your thread but maybe you could share here too the basics of what you liked. Starwheel, AFC spring tension, full power screw stuff. That could give us a jump start on tuning on Jason's rig. Weren't you doing 30+psi?

I don't remember the specific settings. Quarter turn away from runaway on the full power screw, afc tension tight but not nuts, basically enough so it wouldn't smoke before spool.

I could hit 37# running hot and heavy with that as a single, but that's outside the compressor map. Boost fooler pretty much full tight.

First snow of the season always gets me excited. Decided to take Project Snowball❄️ and my dog Reload up to explore. Went up to my favorite stomping grounds on the east side of Mt. Hood of Forest Road 44.

Golden color of the Tamarack which shed their needles in winter. One of my favorite trees. I got a free use permit through the forest service which allows you to collect up to 15 trees.

I dug these Tamarack and Englemann Spruce that I’ll be planting at the Crater Lake property.

Built a nice fire and had lunch just as snow was starting up again. What a great time relaxing in the 60. Also found this interesting wood that I’m thinking of making into a table. Next it was off to High Prairie. The trail climbed over 6,000’ which got into some fun snow on the trail.

High Prairie just shy of 6,000’. After this I planned to take the rough Gunsight Ridge road that runs to the Badge Lake road.

From High Prairie you descend around Lookout Mountain down to Gumjuwac Saddle. Traversing a huge talus slope.

The Badger Lake Road approach from Bennett Pass is a very fun road. On sunny day the east side of Mt. Hood can be seen along the route. The climb up to the Castle, not really sure if it’s been name but there you go.

Gunsight Ridge is in the foreground which was traversed between High Prairie and the Badger Lake Road.

And this was where it all changed…

The stick shifter broke off right on the threads of the short throw shifter…😵
There was no way of shifting gear by hand. It was getting toward 5 o’clock. All day on the road I’d only seen one other vehicle. It was about 8 miles to Bennett Pass where it meets HWY 35 at Mt. Hood Meadows ski area. I brought a chainsaw and some hand tools… Looking inside my tool kit and only tool worth trying was a socket on a socket wrench. Blown away I was able to get the 60 in reverse and then into first and make my way to HWY 35.

Made it to Bennett Pass as snow was accumulating on the HWY. Was able to get the transmission in 3rd gear which was not easy… I’m was still 50 miles to home. One nice thing about the snow on HWY 35 was the snow on the road made other vehicles drive slow. It wasn’t until HWY 26 that the highway was wet but then it went to two lanes. I put on my hazards and just limped home the entire way in 3rd gear. There was only one traffic signal on my drive home which was in Welches and thankfully I made that. Next was the turn off the HWY and onto the side roads home. At Shorties Corner I made a break and had no oncoming traffic. Next was 2 stop signs in about 10 miles of driving in the foothills. Both stop signs I was able to go through without having to not stop. Very thankful to make it home, it would have been a rough night in the 60 on the mountain.

Wow, that's an unexpected break. I just sent one of those levers back with my core trans too, damn.

Amazon product ASIN B019XB6FQOAwaiting the replacement short throw shifter to arrive decided it’s a good time to replace the fluid in the NV4500, closing in on 20K miles. Searching online truck forums for the Castrol Syntorq replacement is a headache. This looks like the best suitable replacement.
@GLTHFJ60 @cruisermatt

Imo keep the same fluid in it as it has now.

On my new trans they specified valvoline vv975 so that's what I used.

I've got the vv975 Valvoline in mine and it shifts great, but the trans rattles like crazy at idle. If I bump the throttle ~200 rpm or push the clutch, only the engine rattles. I wish I could get to the idle screw on my pump 🤣

The short throw shifter was heated and bent because it interfered with the steering wheel.

Instead of doing the same thing I’m going to shorten the shifter handle 4”. It’s actually feels more comfortable at the factory angle towards the driver. I installed the handle and raised the steering wheel all the way up and drove it around and it actually shifted smoother. It went into reverse easier.

Redline cured my 2nd gear grind on my h150 in my 80 series. I highly recommend it.
I also was trying to find the highly recommended Castrol but could not find it locally.

I have the redline in mine. Just because I was able to get it quickly on amazon. Glad to see you out enjoying your 60 so much.

Allstate Gear short throw shifter was out of stock and unknown when they’d get any back in with the supply chain problems. Told me to check Ebay and found it. The previous short throw shifter we heated and bent. Instead of heating and bending the short throw shifter decided to shorten the shifter handle by 4”.

Looking at getting a threaded oil pan heater that threads into the side of the oil pan. Pure Diesel Products said this is 3/4” NPT. Does anyone know the side of the threads on the oil pan? I’m going to change my oil soon so could check then but would like to get this coming.
My neighbor Walter took a pic of my property.

Lows are down close to 0F tonight at the Crater Lake Property and there’s about 16” of snow on the ground.
