Well, that definitely gives you a rough timetable to make a move.
Well, everything I own can fit into the 60, so it won’t be too difficult. Mostly tools for fixing the 60…🤣

I wanna see a video of you doing donuts in the snow around the snowman now.

Took Snowball and the guns out to go shooting. Went out to sight in my AR with new red dot scope. Also brought my brand new PTR-32P.

Bullet comparison of the PTR-32P 7.62x39 and AR-15 5.56 ammo. The PTR is classified as a pistol so it’s legal to open carry on Oregon, however would draw some attention.

Sighting in the Palmetto AR-15.

Was shooting dead level at the middle bullseye but shots were going to the right. After adjusting scope started getting nice grouping pattern. Shot 3 shots at bottom and top red target and was happy.

How's it been starting in this cold snap.
Temps plummeted New Year’s Day into the teens. So cold the water in my hydro flask froze solid but still was able to get 4BT started with the grid heater.

Receipts are so awesome. I finally got around to looking through my folder on what flywheel year and starter I have. I’ve been researching and XDP has a gear reduction starter 94-02 with great reviews. Mean Green makes one also for the 1 gen and 2 gen Ram too but doesn’t have good reviews. I found my flywheel and starter receipts.

DESCRIPTION

You can rely on the XDP Wrinkle Black HD Gear Reduction Starter XD257 to get your 1994-2002 Dodge 5.9L Cummins running in the most extreme environments. XDP's HD Gear Reduction Starters are faster, stronger, and more durable than your factory starter. This gives you the ability to turn over even the most aggressive diesel engines.

XDP's HD Gear Reduction Starters feature faster, more efficient motor that draws less amperage. The Gear Reduction Design produces more torque than a factory unit, at about a third of the size. This not only reduces weight, but also makes a more compact design for easier installation. Each starter comes pre-tested, ready for installation and features a durable "Wrinkle Black" finish for corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

With diesel prices climbing I really wanted to get a diesel storage tank at my house. I had a service call at work with a customer that had a well pump system turning on and off, AKA- rapid cycling. Upon arrival i find the tank is waterlogged, no air for the well pump to compress so there’s no drawdown in the tank. It’s on then off and on then off while water is being used. I get my compressor and start adding air and drain the water when the water. The customer asked if there’s a tank that doesn’t need to have air added so often. I told him about a diaphragm tank. He told me to replace the tank. I go get the new tank and remove the steel tank. He asks me if I wanted to take it. The tank was only a couple years old so I said sure. As I was driving home it hit me… I had my diesel 80 gallon storage tank. I set to work cutting old galvanized pipe at work and welding it together. I know, welding galvanized can be very dangerous. I made the stand and get the tank mocked up.

Once I got the tank mocked up I took it home.
I dug holes for the legs and concrete them in. I decided to flush the iron and debris from inside the tank. The tank is an epoxy lined steel tank. It still had some orange iron staining inside after flushing. At work we have Boresaver which dissolves iron in wells. I decided to mix up a solution of Boresaver and allow it to treat the tank for a day. I drained the tank and flushed it out.

After flushing with water I used my Stihl blower and blew air through the tank with all the plugs removed in the tank. This tank was rather nice as it had 2” NPT connections on the top and bottom when the tank is situated vertical. I was able to get a rag and tape to a pipe and swab the remaining moisture.

Filled tank with some diesel fuel tonight and flushed the system. Super stoked to have 80 gallons of diesel. Bought some Diesel STABIL fuel stabilizer to add to the tank to protect against water and algae. At work we recently bought a 75 gallon diesel pack tank which will be nice for filling my storage tank.

I should have gone into petro chemical engineering when I got out of high school like a reasonable person.

Worked on the 12’ Klamath boat yesterday. Need to get a bigger drop hitch and longer safety chain. Received the boat title and new tags. Pressure washed the boat. Today I installed a trailer jack and replaced the old manual hand crank. Moved the spare tire from laying horizontal on the frame to vertical. Rattle can sprayed the boat trailer frame.

Next Monday picking up new tires and wheels. Can’t wait to get it out on the water.

Took a week off and headed down south along the Oregon coast and camped at Cape Blanco, Oregon before heading to see the Redwoods in Southern Oregon and Northern California. Took the truck and camper, not Snowball ☹️

Oregon Coast at its best!!!

While watching the sunset at the Cape Blanco lighthouse everyone left for camp while my daughter took more pictures with me. Getting ready to head back and saw that the moon was just rising. We decided to stay and it was Devine the high point of the trip and it was only the first day… what a treat!!!

I saw the solar eclipse in the Oregon Cascades at a lookout tower and that evening was about a close second experience! This location is the only possible location on the Oregon Coast to look east over the Pacific and see the moonlight on the water. SIMPLY AMAZING!
