Been in Maui since Sunday and the place is amazing. If our company gets enough points through our supplier it awards trips at the beginning of the year from last years points. This was my wife and my 3rd trip to Maui and we had enough for our kids and my dad and his wife. This place is expensive, our supplier is the best and rewards it’s customers in ways beyond belief.
I’m not a resort guy at all. Love outdoors and getting out there. Maui has some amazing hidden spots away from the resorts.
Today we did the famous “Road to Hana”.
59 miles, 620 curves and 59 one lane bridges... only wish they rented 60 series Landcruisers but a Nissan Armada would have to do.
The trip started out different from the last 2 times, good thing cuz the kids were here. A Parrot guy was on the side of the road and had Parrots that had retired from the movies. We stopped to check them out not knowing their background when he threw them on us...

Continued on and visited many hidden waterfalls and beaches. Most people drive and never get out to stop. A lot of waterfalls are not seen from the road at all.

Stopped at this historic church that still has services in Kaupo. Fresh coconuts were on the ground so broke them open and had a nice snack. It’s actually a lot of work without a knife.

South of Hana was a bridge with little water in the stream that ran toward the ocean. We hiked down to find this hidden surprise, I was so down for a cliff jump.

After I jumped Harlee wanted to jump but not without me. Found a ledge about 15 feet above the water that she was comfortable with.

We actually went completely around the SE side of Maui and saw some country more reminiscent of eastern Oregon aside from the Pacific Ocean within sight.

Visited the State Park in Hana and enjoyed time body surfing in the rough surf of Black Sand beach.

Thursday’s adventure was to explore the Haleakalā Crater. Weather yesterday showed it’s be nasty but since I am a thrill seeker thought I’d venture up to 10,023’ to see what was happening and maybe get in a hike...
Drive up Haleakalā around 9,000’

In this harsh climate grow these rare Ahinahina plants native to the summit of Haleakalā.

Just another rainbow. I’ve lost count how many we’ve seen.

Got back home to Oregon as snow begins to hit at lower elevations. The Oregon Cascades have been pounded the last week. Timberline went from a meager 23” base to 109” since I left. The snow makes me eager to get out and enjoy it after the warm Maui vacation.
@boots4 hit me up earlier today wondering if I’d be down for a trip Saturday. Went and got a 20 pound CO2 tank with regulator/ hose and adapter with air chuck.

Thought I’d quickly post my CO2 bottle holder I made this evening after work for the rear tire carrier. Had no plan but just went after it. Should work great.

Cut 8” casing in half and welded in spacer to make it large enough to hold 8” CO2 cylinder.

I would not put that there especially with that style regulator

Won’t put the regulator on til I need to air up the tires and then I’ll remove it after airing up.

Met up with @boots4, @Paco, and @Kentucky Pete in Estacada then went up the Clackamas River.

The heavy snow knocked down a lot of trees. Glad we packed a chainsaw. Took the road to get to the Bull of the Woods lookout where my buddy James and I stayed during the solar eclipse.

Thanks for leading today. Snow wasn't the greatest but the company was and it was still a fun day.

View of the Clackamas River from where I stopped to air up the tires.
Next need to plan a campout.
Got back to town and had a treat with the kiddos.

Took a half hour to fill the 4 tires with 15 psi per tire. Got home and played with my air chuck and found one quick disconnect wasn’t letting very much air flow through it.

im amazed you can get four white 60's in the same place and time! Looks like a nice day i can't wait to get out west.
30 minutes to fill your tires, something isnt right. Should be about 30 seconds per tire.

I mentioned up above that I checked it when I got home and found one of my quick disconnects for the air hose wasn’t letting a lot of air through it.

Thanks to both of you! Always great to get out with good folks and have some fun.

A mild 54F here in the Cascade Foothills and an awesome January day. I could see Mt. Hood and wanted another snow fix.
Weekend warrior traffic to the ski resorts is a nightmare I like to avoid. Since it’s MLK day tomorrow Timberline was open for Sunday Night skiing. Usually they are only open Christmas break nights and Friday/ Saturday. I decided to take the kids up. The traffic was the usually Government Camp crawl from HWY 35 Mt. Hood Meadows Skiing traffic to HWY 26 merge with Timberline Skiing traffic and over “Govy” down to Rhododendron. Running up the mountain was a breeze and the views were spectacular as usual.

Both of them are getting really good. Harlee is getting better at parallel skiing and Ryder loves to find and hit the jumps. So thankful I taught them when they were old enough.

No moon but Mt. Hood could still be seen as we got ready to leave.

Snowball❄ was warming up and so were the kids while I stood out in the parking lot taking it all in.

The Speedhut and stock Toyota fuel sending unit combo is very inaccurate so going with this Floatless Fuel sending unit. Recommended by @FJ60Cam Thanks Cam
@TRAIL TAILOR is making an adapter plate for this sender unit. Thanks J
Order 7”sender 90 ohm option.
Can’t wait for this to get my fuel level accurate. Going off mileage does work with the accuracy of the Speedhut odometer but tank to tank mileage varies.
