Here's what is likely a simple question but talking it through with my wife isn't giving me the feedback I'm after...
For my carb fan I'm running it to a Spdt switch so I can run it manually (one of the on switch) and then auto (the other on switch). The auto side will be connected to a time delay circuit were it runs for a point of time once power (via the ACC) circuit is switched off...so it runs for 5 minutes when each time the ignition is cycled. I've got this part.
Here's the kicker. I'm running the circuit off a relay in my aux panel which is then provided power via another relay connected to the ACC circuit. This works fine for the manual on function detailed above and the trigger for the auto function...however once I turn the car off there is no power to the aux panel for the fan to run for the 5 minutes.
So...do I just remove this particular relay from the AUX panel (which is ACC switched) and connect power directly to battery via an inline fuse? This should work as long as my time delay relay trigger wire is connected to the IGN circuit somewhere...but then what about my manual on function?
I'm thinking that it may be easier to just use a normal spst switch and not try to have manual functionality for the carb fan. The switch would function like a kill switch for the fan. If it's on then the fan runs after each ignition cycle but if the switch is off then regardless if the timedelay gadget performs its function each ignition cycle it doesn't matter as the relay wouldn't get power.
