Well it’s been a long 6 months. But I finally got a settlement for Dusty!
As you all know or if you didn’t know I was involved in a Traffic Collision with my FJ60. This happened June 3rd. Aside from the obvious damage of the cruiser I had some damage to myself which glad to say I am recovered. That part of the accident is still pending. In the early stages I was going to walk away from the whole Landcruiser world and just get me a pick up truck or something. But being away from my Landcruiser for these past few months and seeing it turned out well I finally got that desire to get another one and continue being a happy and proud Landcruiser owner again.
Well fast forward to recent days and I got a payout on Dusty. Lawyers got the other party at 100% liability. And let’s say it was betteR than I expected. Got my payout and kept the cruiser and found me a replacement!
It’s a 1983 FJ60. No rust! Some work needed on the interior and motor but that is why I kept Dusty. She is serving the new truck with all the the new truck is missing. It’s like having my private pick a part in my back yard .
Well, no more rambling on. Here is my replacement cruiser!
Glad to be able to update this thread with some good news!!
Cheers 🍻

Yeah this one I just bought is a rust free truck!

Did some cleaning of the engine bay!
And installed my stainless steel battery tray!
Installed the door cards. Salvaged the drivers side door card! Little cracks on it but it still installed ok.

I replaced the door locks and ignition key from Dusty to the 83 fj60.( No pic)
Also started sound deadning the doors since I had the door cards off. And one side of the passenger side quarter panel.
Also, attached my Yakima racks on the roof.

I’m Heartened to see you got made whole after your accident. Proves the point that tenacity is the best tool. Im looking forward to seeing where you take this.

Thank you I appreciate that.
Yeah I couldn’t see myself without some kind of project. So searched out another one.

Slowly plugging away at the cruiser
Today I worked on the drivers side door latch. Installed a new used one and salvaged parts off another door handle. To get it to function properly. She is as good as new now!

Also transferred the existing @4runner battery cables I had on Dusty to the replacement cruiser.
