I just got an HP 2605dn laserjet printer.

I want to print the FJ40 wiring diagram in a large size so I can make a nice wall poster for my garage.

Anyhow, the PDF will pring out a nice 1 pager, or it will print out 1 large page, but only show 1/5th of the wiring diagram.

do I need a special plugin for Adobe Reader to make a multiple page printout of the single page image?
Or do I just need to do a setting in Adobe?

    Thanks for any input!

check you print settings. Make sure it is set to print all pages. I don't work much with printers but that might help

    go to file pull down

    :flipoff2: click "page setup"

    print setup window opens

 select the printer from the list

    :flipoff2: click "properties button"

hp printer window opens, it should have the name of the printer along top

    :flipoff2: click "edit print list"

    paper size window opens

on the right side of that window midway down there is a window named "select a form"

 select/change to "<custom paper size>, now change the paper sizes above that to the size you want to print, i.e. 8.5x11, 8.5x14, 11x17, 24x34.....whatever

    :flipoff2: click "ok"

    :flipoff2: click "ok"

    :flipoff2: click "ok"

go back to file menu pull down

    :flipoff2: click "print"

in adobe, this should make the pdf file squeeze onto the size sheet you selected in the process above.

Go to Kinko's, they have large format plotters, inkjet color too. At least the one in my town has one.

A friend of mine printed the 1991 TBI wiring diagram onto 9 piece of paper for a wall poster, then taped them together.

That diagram is MUCH smaller than the one I have.

I might try what you described, but I am somewhat concerned that it's goign to want me to put a 17 x 44" piece of paper in the printer...

edit: wants me to put in 8.5 x 11, 14 or 17 as the paper size.

    another option:

go to the file menu pulldown in adobe

    click "export"

click "extract image as".... then depending on how the original pdf file was put together you will either get one big tif/jpeg/png file or a few small ones.

EDIT, waring!! make sure you are ONLY extracting that page.. if the pdf file has 100 pages it will extract all the images.

if you want it up to billboard size - I can send the PDF off to one of my vendors and they can print it on anything you want including directly to Lexan, banner material, paper or even decal material... you just got to come up with the $$$'s.
