I may have gotten Lucy stuck this weekend while hunting but at least my primitive rocket stove was a resounding success. I've tried the Swedish fire candles before and they were mediocre at best, but this one worked fantastic. It was a piece of dry, bucked up spruce with a 1 3/8" hole drilled 6" deep and another hole drilled in the side. I used a small piece of fire starter and a couple pieces of kindling and that's it. It. It boiled 1.5 litres of water in about 15 minutes.
