I'd say that is a heck of a deal you got. I was just quoted MSRP by a dealer in Austin, TX and they low-balled my trade.
I was very happy with the overall deal. Got $23k trade-in for my 2015 4Runner Limited with 90k. That was top of the range and very fair.

Wanted a silver 200 with black interior; with tightening inventory, I got white with black interior.

Was planning to keep my 4Runner another 7 years before buying my LC but the recent news sped things up. As a way too practical (and frugal) engineer, I’m glad my wife encouraged me to buy it now while I can. She has a GX and I’m always complaining that we can’t get the Prado in the US. I suspect a similar strategy for the 300.

The dealer near me has a 2016 200 series for 30k. Which seems to be about right price wise.

184k miles. It's in Denver. I just looked at it yesterday. Seemed like a fair price. They want 31k to be exact.

A 2016 or a 2013? Groove has a 2013 with 184k miles for $31,190 that shows an accident with severe damage covering the entire vehicle except the drivers side rear corner. There is a huge difference in price between a 2013 and 2016, and there is a massive price penalty for a severe accident on the Carfax. If there was a 2016 locally with 184k with a clean Carfax for $31k in Denver, it would be sold the second I saw the listing ;)

Been quoted $1,500 off a base white with terra interior. Love the looks, but concerned about the downsize from a 2016 Sequoia. Thoughts? Have two kids, 11 and 13, that just keep growing.

i picked up my '21 HE last week for $82.5 from a dealer i've worked with for 20 yrs. the two other quotes i received were for full MSRP.

LC 200 is huge in my book. If 200 series with 2 kids is too small for you are hauling way too much crap! :)

I have three kids: 13, 10, and 5. We downsized from a 2003 Sequoia to an LC, and the size is just fine. I actually prefer the slightly smaller size in traffic, parking, and exploring. We just throw a rooftop box up there whenever we need more storage space.

There is actually quite a bit of leg room in the middle seats, and the oldest kid actually likes to hang out in the 3rd row for long trips (despite the floor being so high, right up against the seat) to get away from from his pesky little brothers.

Amen, brother! You know how kids are though. They feel like they have to cart every possession they have ever owned during trips to go see family.

I feel like the LC is the perfect size for a "large" truck, in the sense that it is not as gargantuan or balloon-like as the Sequoia but still able to be manageable off-road. FWIW, I bought my '21 base at the end of October for 80k even ($87,300 MSRP) in the Tampa Bay Area. I know some have done better but I am happy with the deal, these cars have always been difficult to negotiate for, and probably moreso these days as the clock ticks down.

Isn't there a saying that the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago and the second best time is now?

Yes, the best time to buy an LC was any time when they languished on dealer lots or served as GM demo vehicles before the pandemic.

Second best time is now! If you plan on keeping it long which most of us here will, then 15 years from now do you think you'll regret spending an extra $5-8k on a near 100k vehicle? No!

Good point!
