can i replace power steering from Hydraulic to electric?

land cruiser 100 engine 1fz-fe

O.K, I'll be the one to ask.
Why?

Roy4283, my power steering pump just failed and I'm thinking of using the electric power steering column from the Prius to replace the hydraulic power steering on my LX470. I'm pretty sure you could do it too. There are many people who have done it on various cars. Just look on Google and you'll find many. Badlander, you asked why. My answer is because I want to lessen the load on my engine. The load the hydraulic pump puts on the engine might be minimal but for what I'm trying to do, it makes sense.

Gatormark91, lol I was just looking to see if anyone ever did an electric power steering conversion and I just happened to come across this so I decided to comment. And I guess I'll just have to prove you wrong because I've been thinking about doing this Prius electric steering column for a while and my power steering pump just decided to give up this past weekend so now's my chance to upgrade.
