Having slipped last winter and broken the recliner switch on the drivers side, I'm now getting around to dealing with it. I managed to remove the "bezel" covering the switch plate [didn't break it at all] , but now I am stumped as to how to remove the switch assembly. The FSM is not very illuminating on this. The switch pieces all protrude through a plasitc insert which is sewn into the leather, and it doesn't look llike there's a way to remove the switch through this, as the holes are too small.

Am I going to have to remove the seat completely, and does anyone have any tips on that? (I am likely going to order the new switch assembly from cdan, and one new knob).

Thanks.

You cannot get to the screws that secures the switch without removing the cover on the seat bottom. The leather interior is secured with metal tabs instead of hog rings, and can be removed pretty easily. I only had to remove the tabs in the front of the seatbottom to lift the seat cover enough to access the switch screws.

I have a spare switch assembly if you need it.
