Hey guys, seen lots about worn worm gears causing the seats to not move forward/back - which my passenger side does not. But - no idea if I should hear it trying. The controls don't do anything at all for the passenger side seat. So before i tear into it, are there some other places I should troubleshoot first?

Thanks!

Look for missing gear pieces under the front corner of the passenger seat, right next to the console.

Usually, there is no noise or switch noise, or click. It just doesn't do anything.

I have to ask... are you sure the seat is plugged into the power harness? Many times I’ve gone to look at a Cruiser for sale and harness is unplugged under the seat. The PO has positioned the damaged seat to where it was usable, and then unplugged the harness to keep people from damaging it more.

I suppose if you are experiencing no power to the seat at all then you have two diagnose points to look at:
1) unplug (or rather as mingles said) check its even plugged in. if it is unplug it and do a volt check test on the floor plug as its constant 12V. if no power you have a link/fuse issue to check back up the line.
2) If you have 12V constant then you need to do the save check at the seat switches and see if power is reaching the switch. If not the obvious is a severed earth/power wire under the seat somewhere,
3) Your switch could be shot with bad contacts etc but not likely as you have two controls and the chances they are both shot is pretty low. Maybe check both seats as i think they share a fuse which would give you an answer

That's where the plug usually falls out.
