I'll try to get the pictures tonight.

Biggest rust problem on 80's is the rear hatch. It seems that moisture collects at the top of the rear hatch window seal just below the fluid squirter. EVERY CDM LX450 that I've seen has some form of rust in this spot. Also moisture can collect and rot the bottom of the hatch window.

I've got some rust developing in the DS rear wheel well. At the lowest spot of the front of the wheel well. This is probably not a common problem area, but it is getting bad.

I don't have any (except probably under the roof rack feet, like everyone else).

I'm starting to get some here to. I'm wondering if this is more prevelent on cruisers w/o the wind deflecter. Do you have one?

I don't have any pics, but I have a small amount of rust on the rear quarter panel next to the bottom lift gate. It is on both sides. I have yet to look at the upper rear lift gate... POR 15 here I come!!!

True, no rust ....... but was that a windshield wiper spoiler I just saw when I clicked on your link:confused:

POS Running Boards rusted away.

PO had the rear hatch window replaced the day before I bought it and there were no signs of rust (saw a few photos with the window out) and this truck has lived in both MN and ME ...... now it just gets rained on in WA:rolleyes:

This is a good thread - will do photo inspection soon

Found about 30 tiny surface rust spots today when breaking out the touch-up paint. Most are on the front bumper. Looks like the perfect excuse to get an aftermarket one...:grinpimp: The only serious spot was on the PS rear rocker just peeking out from under the trim.

By design you shouldn't get rust in this area since the rear window gasket is supposed to be glued to the body with urethane as per the FSM. Unfortunately the urethane dries up and allows water between the two surfaces which I think is how folks are getting rust in this area. The urethane drying out is what has happened to my cruiser. As soon as it quits raining and I have some time, I'm going to replace the gasket and check for rust. Hopefully my cruiser will be fine since it's lived most it's life in Las Vegas, NV.

Does anyone ever get rust at this location?
