Yes. I came very close to rubbing. I'm confident I would have hit it, but only at or near full compression and turned all the way to the right. It'd you didn't trim and you never did any extreme wheeling, you'd probably never notice and you wouldn't do any damage to either the tire or the washer bottle if you did occasionally rub. You would never hit it on the road. Now that they’re mounted do you think the washer bottle cover trimming was necessary?
Yes, I was testing the fitment so I turned it all the way in both directions.Nice and that's full lock?
I don't "feel" stress but that's another reason I went with the 285s, they're narrower than most 35s so the stress is less. I mean 285/75/16s are the same width but 2" smaller diameter so the contact patch is theoretically the same width but just a little shorter and I don't hear people concerned about their racks with that size. I think the guys who go through racks on these are wheeling hard and in rocks with lots of turning from lock to lock while not moving on a surface with lots of traction. Not unlike a parking lot though. My rack has got 298k miles on it and a slight input shaft leak. So if it fails, I can't really attribute it to the tires. I do intend to try and do my slow speed turning on pavement while rolling whenever possible to try and "reduce stress."Sweet rig! I know only time will tell, but do you guys feel much stress on the steering rack with this setup?
@Tareq did you do the pinch weld mod/fender bending and windshield washer reservoir mod? Also, is that a LC100 or LC105?
