Just took the bimini top off and put the soft top back on for the cold season. Took the old 40 out on the trail yesterday. First pic is my '73, second pic also shows my friends '71 that he just put an Ehsan top on. We were doing a pre-run for the Rising Sun "40's Only Run".

Man, you've taken your rig to some beautiful spots. Loved the earlier pics from Colorad and Utah. I hope you're printing all those pics in 8" x 10" size (or larger) and hanging them over the mantle. I would. Seriously, this kind of "cruiser porn" is what keeps me going on my own rig.

MDH33- i love your 40, been thinking about tearing mine down to rebuild it more like yours. Cant wait until i can move back out to CO, awesome pics
WOW that's $PENDY for one of those tops.. yeah i know u can't get them and all.. but i was never too fond of mine. When it rained water was guided right into the vehicle thru the door channel bow because there was no rain lip flap built into the top.. and zippers failed after a good few years..
BUT THEN AGAIN.. all of these soft tops have a "limited" life span when they are subject to the elements year round..
Heres my OD Green Canvas made by me....The good thing about making them yourself is if you don't like the color you just make another.......
I thought I'd like the green, but I don't so It's coming off for another color....Not sure which color though...Maybe a lighter color......

I think the black canvas would look good, and it would be cool in the summer time, Unlike vinyl. The black will fade just like the green. Although I think when the green fades it will look good like JohnnyC's.
Nice job Jim. You're very talented. How about black in the Sunbrella fabric? If you can pull that off I might have to score some bows and get you to make me one. Are you going to sell the green one?

I put my Paki top on this weekend. I picked the top and a paki stamped bezel up from a fellow mudder who decided not to use it.
