I need info on importing my HZJ75RP diesel to the US. I dont have catilitic conversion on the exhaust or any air-bag installed, are these items nessary in the NY/NJ areas? The rig is 1999 model and is right hand drive. Any info will be welcome.

If you are citizens of another country going for a visit you maybe allowed a temporary permit to drive your vehicle in the US .
If you are US citizens then the news is not good .

Rosco is correct if you are a citizen from another country you can request tempory status to bring you vehicle in, you must prove that it was destroyed when you leave or prove you took it with you when you leave.
Also NY and NJ do not have emissions testing for Diesels, and right hand drive is also not an issue. All of that being said if you are a citizen and wanted to import it, you would be out of luck via normal channels because it would not pass federal safety standards (nothing for this on file so does not pass) and also federal emissions for diesel (also not on file and it would probably not pass testing).
