Backstory:

03 LX-Just had an IM 2” lift/diff drop installed by a Toyota off-road specialist. Install was no problem. Sway bar mount on passenger side was welded in due to the old one braking from A/C stoppage. Vehicle was taken for alignment that shop uses. Alignment shop ended up breaking a cam bolt due to it being frozen on. Part was sourced and replaced. Picked up the truck yesterday before closing. About 1 mile down the round I experienced a pop as I accelerated and turned. Vehicle seems to do it as I turn and accelerate only. I’ll give the shop a call this morning to discuss, but trying to self diagnose before hand.

Items to look at? Sway bar links, Cam bolt torqued? All other bolts torqued to spec? Any other suggestions?

To add: Ball joints and CV axles have less than 50 miles on them. CV’s are OEM. UCA’s are stock.

Folks. Search the forum for popping sound. Several others have had the same issue and have found the solution (which I don't exactly recall)
Thanks for your words of wisdom. Instead of commenting blindly, yes I did search. But as it relates to my simple question above, non of the above threads really related to my question as most of the issues can be replicated in fixed position. Theres half a dozen threads with a half dozen “answers.” I’m simply looking for suggestions on items to check as a simple POP can be anything. I used both threads you supplied for input before your helpful comment, and that’s where I suggested my bolts weren’t torqued, sway links are bad, etc. All of which were common findings in the threads above. I’m simply looking for suggestions as I get under my truck and start going through my check list. If I found the answer, I wouldn’t have commented.

Were all control arm bolts tightened/torqued at ride height? It's a royal PITA to get under there without the truck jacked up but that's how the service manual says to do it from what I recall. I had a popping when turning in a parking lot after replacing front lower control arms, ended up loosening all major suspension bolts and retorquing at ride height, that fixed it. Also had a similar issue when I cranked my front TB too much and didn't have the full 2" of droop we're supposed to have. (was around 1").

It seems like everything and everyone could be pointing to the issue you said above. From some of the research I’ve done, seems like the LCA weren’t torqued to spec on a majority of them. I’m taking it in next week for them to look at it. I’ll mention the droop as well, I believe mine is sitting at an 1”.

More likely UCA is revealing some age after lifting. Get a helper to stand outside the vehicle when you turn and see if you can isolate the noise. Inspect ball joints.

Do you have a 3/4” torque wench, and copy of FSM? You can recheck all torque settings touched by mechanic.

I have both. I’ll check the bolts. Ball joints have less than 50 miles on them also so hopefully those aren’t gone. Ha

Threadjack, my bad...

Can you, or anyone, tell me what would be touched during an alignment that I could check torque of? I'm having a similar clunk after an alignment.

Should just be the cam bolts at the top of the upper control arm. They have a backup nut that serves to hold them in place once the cam bolts are positioned correctly for the alignment, that nut can be left too loose, happened to me and my 100 slowly but surely got way out of alignment.

What’s going on with the UCA- outlined area looks cracked

There's little need for the sarcasm bud. I was trying to help you both find the answer (and I do not know the answer)

Good luck, and good bye.
