Mine is a 1985 and has another square connector but the round one seems original? I have searched but found none with a round plug.
Maybe fuel heater (I don't have that and seems an oval plug in the engine bay)

The sensor is 27 Volt and when the two wires are connected the filter light is on.

Hi all, After searching the forum pretty hard I found very small snippets of information on the factory fuel heater located on the fuel filter housing, but not near enough for me to confidently wire it in the best possible way for my application. If you know anything about how Toyota designed...

Thanks for your reply. I trying to hook up my cable locker wiring and thought it might the plug to connect the wires coming from the axles. The truck that I got the axles from had the wires from lockers plugged to this plug. It was a jdm fj62. I have the dash indicators as well just need to sort out the wiring. Do you know what this plug is used for? Mine is not used, maybe could this be a wiring for the lockers?
The round plug is indeed for the Sedimenter. It changed around 86 from square to round. i have both versions under my HJ60 because i have a aux tank with its own sedimenter. you can see both connectors in the picture below.
In the original HJ60 setup, the sedimenter is connected to the loom on the right side of the passenger seat with a square connector which has one spade connection left free. My screwdriver points at it.
On the HJ61 with OEM cable lockers there is a seperate connector in the same loom under the floor near the sedimenter which connects to the rear locker switch in the diff.
In the picture it shows from top to bottom:
#square connector which connects to loom in front of passenger seat
#round sedimenter connector
#small obround diff lock connector
Here you see it installed on the floorboard.
I searched for the rear locker wiring in my HJ60 but it is not installed in the loom which runs from the seat up to the right kick panel.
The front locker connector is a blue round one which can be found near the rear heater piping.This one can be traced all the way to the connector behind the instumentpanel.
I found all this out when i installed the OEM locker warning lights in my dash and connected them to my ARB lockers.
So now i have OEM indicators which are acivated by the ARB switches.
In my HJ61 i have ofcourse everything OEM original.
Maybe this will help you .
