Please post pictures of mounted winch - looking for low profile between frame rails

I am considering various winches and would like to find one that mounts down between the frame rails limiting the block of air flow to the radiator due to over heating issues. Please post pictures if you have a winch that would fit this need.

While i am a big fan of the Warn 8274 it does not meet this need.

If a between the frame rails mounted 8274 is causing overheating, that is a sure symptom of a barely adequate or under capacity cooling system.

X2 the winch shouldn't cause overheating. My XD9000I is mounted high infront of the radiator with no problems. If that is a concern for you I would check your cooling system for problems.

I am running a 302 with a C4 and 35s and we have been battling an overheating issue climbing grades for quite some time. I have had several threads on that issue. Based on recommendations from this forum I switched to the Champion radiator last week and it helped considerably. I just want to find a winch that does not block air flow at all as I want to keep as much air going through the radiator as possible.

Pictures of winches between the rails other than the Warn 8274 would be appreciated. I have had wo 8274s in the past and while I think they are an excellent winch I don't want the air flow blockage as minimal as it might be.

i never had any over heating issues ...but that's in my case...warn 8274-50 with protective cover, 2 big fog lights and its mounted over the rail.....2 f engine

Just a dumb question, but are you running a fan shroud?

Also, I think you're going to have to fabricate a winch mount, cause as far as I know the 8274 sits the lowest.. could be wrong though
