I didn't think a cooler truck than mine existed...until I found out what a "Pinzgauer" was...(Hint...it's not a German sausage).

Anyone ever seen one in the flesh or better yet, ever owned one?

I always see one parked outside the local army surplus store.

    Surprise, surprise.

Looks just like the thing I rode in when I was on vacation in Kauai and took a zipline tour. Pretty cool vehicles.

I drove one a few years ago. They are cool vehicles and can be found for a pretty decent price. They are a little underpowered for some, but we are Land Cruiser owners. Thus, should be used to the slow lane

I've seen a few in person.

They're okay I guess...if you need to move some troops...

Guy in my neighborhood has one, 6x6 that's restored. Cool truck, smaller than a Mog, never seen one offroad.

There are a bunch of guys on the forum who have owned them. They are cool but nothing to write home about. The novelty wears off quick and life returns to normal.

The Pinz is cool, but they're slow and tippy. I'd take a C303 any day.

Ian over at RMP&O used to own this one.

I saw a convoy that included some Pinzgauers up in Colorado a couple of summers ago. They were heading up a dirt road toward Taylor Pass. It looked to be some kind of club. I guess they were in to playing like they're in the German army. The trucks had New Mexico plates. Anybody know of a Pinzgauer club in the Land of Enchantment?

A local guy here in Va. Beach has a restored one. If memory serves, and correct me if I am wrong, they have an air cooled 4 cylinder engine? I don't know if I would go through the trouble of buying one personally though, but if I found a cheap drivable one I'd pick it up. Could be fun.

Yea, I've seen several here in Houston. They are very nice trucks. I'm just not an air-cooled gasser fan.

Frank Mohren from Germany did built his very special HJ60 6x6 based on an Pinzgauer a few years ago.

Couldnt find a better pic on the web, but there was a story in the 4x4 magazine over here.

He kept the Original Toyota Engine and gearbox but used the Pinzgauer transfercase, there are some cute Cruisers on this planet.......

Wow-that's a HUGE front bumper! It looks like he's got a foward control stick on it.

The 60 body works pretty well as a pickup.

What does that thing has to do wih a Pinz?

Back on the Pinz subject, i went wheeling with one sunday! Pretty cool rig, i like there clearence. Even tho it looks tippy due to its width and height, it is not that bad. But the one i went wheeling with didn't have any PS, that looked to be hard on the driver.
