Hey it looks like Don announced the dates for the yearley pig run ---
It will be August 12-13-14 th.
he is gong to make a run at last years record of 14 pigs , so all you 55 guys git your plans in motion.
last years was a blast-- Heavily sponsored by S.O.R , there are some pics up on SORs gallery .
Don has a thread up on pirate4x4 as well.
This will be a multi-functional event for stock to wild class rigs

I will be there!
It was a lot of fun last year at deer valley!
I just hope this year won't be in my 60. I am hoping to have my 55 3b or 2f powered and SOA by then. The pig is slated to go under the knife really soon. I am hoping the my modifications will make it a little easier to cross the con.

SOR was a very generous sponsor last year, maybe it will encourage some of the other vensors to donate! ;)

Can you give me a little more info here besides 3 dates. I would love to get my piggy out and that is perfect timing the week before school. Is that the event in PA? If you could fill me in a little more that'd be great.

For last years trail report (http://sor.com/04_FJ55PigRun.html
this year we hope to do the rubicon trail by lake Tahoe California .
maps Here (http://www.californiajeeper.com/rubicon/trail-maps.htm
we sure need as many pigs as we can get as last years had 14,
also some great write ups of last years run on pirates site as well
so far the plan is to drive into Loon Lake ( paved road ) on the 12 of august and meet , then on the 13 th we will drive into spider Lake and camp then on the 14 th you have your choice of returning the way you came in or completing the trail through to Tahoe Lake.

Very cool Posidon
if you need anything let me know\

Little to far for me or my pig to make the trip I think. SC to CA is a long way. Maybe if its a little closer next time I'll be able to make it.

last year was "pigs across america" which actually turned into 3 fj55 runs. i'm sure you can find one closer to SC.

i'll be there this year in my fj40 as a "support vehicle".

You guys KNOW I'm gonna be there...
Haven't missed a Pigrun yet. Got pretty banged-up the first Pigrun on the Con, but did some mods in the off-season with just this run in mind. This time, I'll bring the spare driveshafts. And my handcrank, for the second annual "Start Your Pig with a Handcrank" demonstration.

P.S. You guys from outta town...consider using my garage for staging/routine maintenance/last minute mods.

The 'pigs across America' east coast site last year was PA, Rausch Creek ORV Park, something like 7 pigs there including mine. I am sure someone will take up the torch as we ease closer to the date for the right coasters....

Josh sighting...
I see, over on PBB, that 55 guy is asking about Josh.
I can't post on PBB for some reason, perhaps someone else could cross-post this.
Middle of last week, saw a Pig I did not know parked on Capital ave and 26th st.
Stopped to look at it. Late model hood and turn signals, two-tone paint (original white/rattlecan silver). The more I looked at it, the more familiar it looked. "That looks like Josh's new Pig".
saw a construction guy sitting on the steps of an old house, eating his lunch. Walked up to him and asked if there was a guy named Josh working there...he just pointed to the door. So I walked in and called out. Josh came to the door. His V8 Pig is laid up with a bad throw-out bearing, He just got this new Pig registered and he's living in stockton with his Dad. I reminded him of all the beer he owes me for the header/intake manifold/head and stuff we put on this new Pig last summer...He said he'd drop by to pay me back. Haven't seen him since. He is hoping to make the Pigrun though...

Too pretty...

Someone mentioned stock pigs were invited earlier in the thread. Is there any way to get into Spider Lake without any body damage in a stock pig? I didn't think there was but might consider bringing my shiny pig down for the event and trail riding with someone else or ????

If I can't sell my whelling pig then I will have to show up in something...

Keep us posted of any more details, thanks.

We will meet at Loon Lake. this will be for all trucks, stock included, from there we will see who wants to try to go on to spider lake , i will call Don as we get closer to ck on trail conditions of the possibility of stock trucks making it in to spider,
Glad to have you interested
Evan
