***** PLAN is to bring it to showroom/museum condition with everything original ***
Got this shipped from California. Bought in July. Took months to get it. Lost years off of my life cuz I bought on ebay and sent money and did not hear from the guy in weeks.
Had to wait YEARS to get something that was closest to stock and did not cost a kidney.

PLAN is to keep it as close to stock as possible. Keep on putting NEWER parts if possible.
It has a 2F engine in it. Compression - 125 - 125 - 125 - 125 - 135 -125

4WD, transfercase all work.

I have done the following so far:

Transfer case rebuilt - Was stuck in 4L when delivered from Cali
New ignition
New brakes
New door handle inner assembly
New bumper
New lights
New door seals
New blower/vent (still needs to be put in next weekend). Current one is horrible looking as you can see from pics.

I need to take off paint off of the black seals cuz when it was repainted, they did not cover some areas properly.
I need to seal its exhaust manifold. Need to fix the power steering leak
Need to repaint wheels and also the wheel wells to protect them in the long run.
Need to get new inner door panels.
Need to get sun visors
Need to get roof liner
Need to get hood hooks (missing)
Need to fix the hood holding hooks (They are upside down)
Need to fix some surface rust on the rear bed (in progress)
Need a carpet or something.

I have spent weeks cleaning the underbody with tooth brush.
I am now at a point that I can repaint the suspension components, the underbody components, gas tank to new condition.

Weclome!

Nice rig....I thought the 82s had the dash inset?

Dash insert?
What dash insert?

sloanstavern --- i have put description on top and I am adding to it .. thanx.. :)

Very Nice!

Was the bezel painted silver or oem like that? Whichever I like it very much.

Also, when did the pocket door go to the round keyed latch?

My Jan 81 has pull pocket door.

bezel = grill ? Yes that is original to my knowledge.

What do you mean by pocket door go to the round keyed latch?

oh ic..

I have seen the round one on all recent ones.. I thought. Then again, who knows who did what in 28 years.

What does everybody think of my "plans" with this vehicle??

Very nice
