This a friend of mines rig in Colombia. Its a 94 FZJ80. It comes with the factory Subtank, dual air, cooler and ice maker, factory winch, and a 5-speed manual.. If only I had these toys in my rig I would be so happy.@@!!!

That is cool, thanks for sharing. I love the color its like a military green is that a stock color. Is that 80 made in Venezuela or imported into columbia from another country?

Looks like he's got just about everything on that including LHD except a rear tire carrier. Any pics of the entire dash (right/left and center)? Was this originally a Columbian special order or "collector" vehicle?

Is that a factory green color ??? Can you provide a paint code ?

....and the seat covers ? how do I get them ?

Thanks for the pics, they made my mouth water. ;) I keep seeing stuff on this board I never new existed for 80's.

The dude in the mirror (5th pic.) doesnt look to happy. Looks like he is in fatigues. Is is a military or policia rig? It has the eagle emblem on it.

Is this a carburated 1FZ? looks like it.

I think that 80 was made in Japan. Maybe other Venezuelan Mudders can correct me, but I don't think 80 were ever made with sunroofs and factory rear AC.
Plus it looks like the aux fuel tan was also factory.

BTW, the PCV valve grummet on this truck needs to be changed. Perhaps the valve as well.

Very nice rig!

Alvaro

Great that you guys liked the pics... In colombia, you can get two types of 80's, the Venezuelan and the Japanese version. AlvaroB is right, this one is Japanese, he removed the flares on this one. It is completely stock except, the tires, snorkel, and rack. The original color of the rig was silver, he then got it painted the green Military color. The owner is in the military hence the color and the seats, wish I had some more pics of the actual dash but I dont. This 80 is carburated.

In the pics you can see the difference between the jap version and the venezuelan one, the thrid row windows are sliding on the jap and on this particular 80 its a full window. also i dont have a pic but the silver 80, has a full bench seat up front not two. So it doesnt have a center console.

I love the rear bumper idea on this rig. He removed the corner bumper covers and installed these Steel bumper corners and added the d ring schackle hookups. I am finding out how much these cost and will be ordering a set for mine as soon as i find out. They are very strong and offer a better alternative to those that dont want to dish out 1k for a new rear bumper....

That's how they came until the late 90s.

Alvaro

That color is great. I would love to have that color. Do you have any more interior pics? I'd like to see how the manual transmission is set up.

Neat! I've always wanted to see a carburated 1FZ. I know they made a bunch of them for the South American and the Middle East markets. Basically, places were petrol is otherwise pretty cheap.

As for why, I assume it's to avoid all the electronics and thus increase the reliability and simplicity for a rig used in remote areas. I could see the value of eliminating all those computers, relays and an entire harness, if you were just going out in the remote jungles or deserts for most of the vehicle's life.

My lovely Marilu come from Arako :D and have sun roof, sub tank, dual gas tanks and more toys ..

I have talked to the my friend whose shop is in the background of the pics and he said he would do a 1fz conversion with a 5 speed manual to my 3FE for less than 2500 USD, that includes engine, tranny and labor. Shipping to colombia is roughly $800. Will be saving up for this pretty soon... Beats buying a whole other rig.

Cool pics, thanks for sharing...I assume you are back in the US now? Give me a call when you get a chance so I can come down for a trail ride:cheers: I also am still interested in coming over when you do your front end rebuild for a little hands on experience hopefully before I tackle my own:doh: Thanks Jason
