A recent trip around the South Island, from our home in Christchurch. My Troopy, my partner, our dog Tilley, and the open road. What more does one need? Enjoy.

Beautiful pictures! Beautiful troopy! Thanks for sharing!

Hi, Are you able to say where the photo's were taken, for the benefit of world wide viewer. Thanks

Apologies for the late reply.

First few shots in the evening light were in the Mackenzie Basin area - townships nearby include Tekapo, Twizel, Mt Cook Village and Omarama.

The next set were down near Wanaka and up the Matukituki Valley and Mt Aspiring National Park.

How was the winter down there? Snowfall more/ less than normal? Temperature warmer/ cooler than normal? Great pics and looks like quite the adventure mate!

Sorry for the late reply!

Winter wasn't too bad last year. Where I live (Christchurch), we haven't had snow settle on the ground for a number of winters, and '22 was no different. 15 years ago or so it was common at least once a year to get a decent snowfall settling on the ground in Christhurch.

Seems winters are getting milder....but who knows what winter '23 will bring (we are starting to get into the depths of that now). We are experiencing El Nino weather patters, which brings warmer westerly prevailing winds, so it's actually a bit unpredictable!
