Just got the PHH replaced and I am pleased that I did... it was a time bomb...

It wasn't as bad a I thought it would be... took me about hour and half from

wheel off to wheel on... Thanks to this forum I knew exactly how to tackle this

beast ahead of time... ( And YES, gear wrench is a MUST... my .02 cents)

Funny you mention that, I just hired robbie (powderpig) to do mine on Tuesday :)

Sweet. You'll like Robbie's work, and his work ethic.

what do you mean by a "gear wrench"?

Eric

You need to get out of Mud occasionally and try the rest of the internet. There is a web site called Google. If you go there and type the words "gear wrench", your question will be answered. HTH. :D

By the way, Sears has some of their gear wrenches on sale.

...

an end wrench that ratchets on one end. Very handy to have at least a 10 & 12mm, those are the ones I use most. But I don't recall the size needed to install those hose clamps on the phh, might be 8mm.

you'll notice I didn't ask what a gear wrench *is*!
I asked what *he means* by a gear wrench...
since there are wide variations on what people call tools and parts on this here confused site...

It's used (12mm) for loosening the lower bracket of heater pipe... you have to

loosen the lower bracket bolt to be able to move heater pipe to insert the new

PHH. You do not have to have this tool... but will make things lot more easier...

From start to finish, 1 and 1/2 hour with right tools and it's no longer "Pesky"

Heater Hose... rather, just another maintenance item. Once again thanks to this

forum... I was mentally ready.
