can a performance coil like a mallory or bosch coil be used to replace a stock coil and still keep all the other electrics connected that are attached to the coil?

thanks
jim

did you see any noticable performance improvements?

Do not expect to see any difference in your performance from an adtermarket coil installed on an otherwise stock 2F.

When I suspected my factory coil was going out, I replaced it with an MSD Blaster 2 coil (when they were made in the US; now they're Chinese made) and it felt like a huge improvement. Would've liked to compare it directly to a new stock coil because I think the biggest reason for the performance jump was from mine going out.

I've since switched to a Mallory Promaster that's controlled by a Mallory Hyfire 6AL, which in turn is triggered by my factory igniter (so I could retain use of the factory tach and not risk issues with the ECU). Haven't had a problem at all, though I had to make a bracket to mount the Promaster coil.
