I have a 2017 stock LC200 for a few months now. If you punch it at highway speeds to pass, it always shifts twice, I'm guessing 7th then 6th gear. I'm not that patient and want all the power now. It seems like it should skip a gear or as many as needed to get you to the lowest gear for the speed range you are going.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Dealer didn't find a problem.

Thanks!

That's not how automatics work, they are sequential. If you want more power without shifting, suggest re-gearing, a blower, or an EV with instant torque.

Thanks for all the replies. I just wanted to make sure it was working properly. I guess I am used my old truck that shifts into the appropriate gear a little quicker, and my Spark EV..haha

It's a 6000lb mall crawler truck, get an x5 if you are looking for that kind of feeling. I have 0 issues on the highway with my truck merging and what not, its not sports car so you feel the bulk and hesitation when getting on it and braking.
