Hello guys,
I need to locate the part numbers of some gaskets that are required to be changed upon replacement of the throttle cable of the A442F tranny. I have reviewed several posts here, but could not find this specific information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My truck is a 1994 HDJ 80 with ATM (A442F), European spec. The tranny was rebuilt five years and 90,000 km ago. It is filled with Dexron III. Maintainance has been very careful.
It all started a week ago, when I noticed that the throttle cable did not return to its rest position after pulling it by hand in the engine bay:
Initially, I could persuade the cable to go back. Later on, when the picture was taken, it refused, Then I went for a test drive and eventually it looked normal again. But it is clear that there is something wrong with the cable, as it does not return automatically, and has to be replaced.
I purchased a new one (Toyota part No. 35520-60060) and did read the A442F FSM (RM314E, including its supplement) to have an overview of the process and to identify non-reusable parts (gaskets, etc.) that might be needed. My questions are:
1. Is it there any gasket between the oil pan and the transmission case? The FSM only says to this respect 'Apply seal packing to the oil pan. Seal packing: Part No. 08826 - 00090, THREE BOND 1281B or equivalent'. This is a silicon-based RTV sealant.
2. Installing the throttle cable seems a complex process involving removal of the valve body and then 'REMOVE O / D CASE AND CENTER SUPPORT APPLY GASKETS'. Here is a figure (page AT-14 of FSM RM314E):
Moreover, these gaskets seem to be installed to some kind of elongated thing with a pitted side (page AT-121 of FSM RM314E):
Whatever the heck such 'center support apply gaskets' are, they are non-reusable and I have to locate their part numbers before starting the change of the throttle cable. I have not been able to find them in ToyoDIY neither in japan-parts.eu. Toyota Spain is useless for anything older than ten years which, further, was never sold in the country.
My role in this comedy is to get all the parts to a professional mechanic, who will carry out the operation. But I am lost.
Thank you guys for any help.
