Part time tranfer case rear extension housing removal (1 Viewer)

Hi all heard some whining driving home then was going up a hill and slowed right down and can hear some clunking in the transfer case.

I've removed the driveshaft and taken off the 9 bolts holding the rear extension housing and the housing moves out about 1/2" but it wont move any further

Is there something i am missing that would be holding it in?
