I'm just doing a front brake job on my Lj78 and figured I will do wheel bearings, races and seals at the same time. These parts were all easy to source except the outer seals. In reading these forums I have seen surprisingly little reference to this part beyond someone noting that they need to come from Japan. It's my understanding based on the manuals I've read that the outer seal must only be present on trucks that have/had E hubs. (mine have been switched to AISIN with spacers) but regardless I'll need this seal to do my bearings.

let me know if anyone has the part number or knows where I can source them!

Cheers

I am confused which seal you are looking for. There is an oil seal on the inside of the hub, and a paper gasket between the wheel hub and locking hub body.

As far as I'm aware that diagram is showing a factory manual hub where as the E hub design has a seal for the inner and the outer bearing which are different from each other.

I pulled this shot from another thread showing the outer seal

It has been almost two years since I did my front wheel bearings and seals, I had completely forgotten about that outer seal. I believe the part you're looking for is 90311-62003, likely not readily available in North America (at least not at normal parts stores) but you can probably get it at a specialty Land Cruiser shop like Back 40 Imports - https://back40imports.com/ or Cruiser Teq | Land Cruiser Specialists Powered by Cruiser Outfitters - https://cruiserteq.com/
Thank you! I'll look into it

Cheers
