The parking brake actuator on my left drum is acting up. It won't spring open after the cable is released. Is there something specific I should check for? I can bang it back with a hammer, but its really stiff.

Sometimes you have to replace the mount and the pin... I have bunch of OEM ones I picked up a while back to do just that. I did mine a couple years ago after I burned through a set of brakes from sticky levers... LMK if you need one!

You may try disassembling it and cleaning... seems to work at times.

Probably a frozen bellcrank. Put 'er up on jackstands, take off both back wheels & brake drums (may have to back off adjusters if the shoes have seated in), have someone pull the park brake, & see what's going on.

Take one side apart at a time so you have an example of how it goes. I sanded the bell crank & the bracket & put synthetic grease on the crank & pivot pin & they work great now.
