Noticed a tiny split in the top of my radiator today when I went to do an oil change. Overflow tank was dry and the radiator was about an inch or so from the top. I'm ordering parts to be here later this week and get it changed but I'm trying to decide if I need to leave it parked until it's fixed or can I get away with driving it the 10 minutes or so to and from work now that I can monitor it. Do these have a tendency to catastrophically fail and leave me stranded once compromised?

What do you think? Park it? Or Baby it?

I think you're ok if you carry a gallon of coolant with you. Check level every trip.

Seems like an unnecessary risk.

I wouldn’t risk it since an overheat is our kryptonite
This is what has me in the "park it" camp. Was trying to figure out if I was being overly cautious.

Why risk it? Spend $100 to take an Uber for a week and save yourself $5k and effort of swapping an engine. Order hoses new cap, tstat and heater t’s if none of that’s been done
