Hi, Usually I use pag 46 on a Denso new compressor retrofit from r12 to 134a .However Toyota of Dallas uses ester on retrofits.Since ester mixes with both r12 and 134a without its molecule changing this would seem to be better. Flushing can not remove 100 percent of old fluids Anyone else using ester ? I can’t find on the Denso site if they allow its use or not. Mike.

Hmm. I would stick with the PAG46 [ ND8] if possible. I don't think pag and poe mix very well. Unless you can flush all the old pag out.
Although a small amount of residual pag shouldn't hurt.
I doubt POE would harm the compressor.

Ester is a highly stable molecule and r12 or 134a it is comparable with both . Mike

Chemistry wise I see no problem ,unless I’m missing something. Mike

It's been my understanding that no compressor manufacturers (except York) will warranty a compressor with ester oil in it. I'm told it doesn't offer the lubricating quality of either PAG or mineral oil.

Interesting it’s fully synthetic and has Mobil 1 development. Very stable at low and high temperatures. Mike
