I have a buddy that threw the P0400 code, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction. I did a search and came up with nothing, any thoughts on what to do? Is this a bad 02 sensor or cat starting to go?

It's probably clogged with carbon build up. You can remove it and clean it out, but I'm not sure where its located. I had that issue on my old ford truck.

You guys need to lean into the gas pedal on your LC every now and then. Blow the build-up in the engine and exhaust out the back getting on the highway. You'll be amazed at how much black soot blows out the back if you haven't done it in a long time.

There would be a carbon built up in the EGR passage, try cleaning it. Also, clean the EGR sensor. IF this doesn't work out, the EGR sensor is probably bad, showing faulty error. As far as the code is concerned, it has nothing to do with the o2 sensor and cat.

Turns out he threw a misfire code so he may have a bad coil as well.
