CEL came on last night and I had it read this AM
(P0325) Knock Sensor Malfunction

Haven't had a chance to look into much yet, as I'm at work,
but I'm looking for input on where to start looking.
I searched "P0325" and only found 2 threads with limited info.

Truck is newly tuned up by me using OEM parts from CDan
Plugs, Wires, PCV, Timing set to 3btdc.
Recent Blackstone oil analysis was great (if that matters)
Running Rotella Synth 5W 40 and 87 octane gas
Doesn't seem to be losing coolant.
Has pinged mildly under light acceleration for the last
4 months or so, but I guess I thought that summer and
10% ethanol in our MA gas is a factor in that.

Any ideas/help appreciated

Any chance you bumped the connector to the knock sensor? If memory serves me correctly, at least one of the guys with a knock sensor MIL had a bad connector. I guess I should go reread those threads...

Thanks B

I'll check tonight, but I wasn't one of the posters on that thread
(I'll look it up). I don't think I've been anywhere near my sensors.
I tuned it up probably 3 months ago.

A search turned up more information. I was remembering this thread.

Try this search: Knock+sensor, advanced search, 80-section. FYI, it is a MIL 55 in pre-OBDII vehicles and there are 2 knock sensors.

I did see that thread after expanding my search
and will check my knock sensor tonight.
I know that the P0325 is the first sensor,
but I'll check them both and post what I find.

Thanks

My truck just popped up the P0325 code so I'm off to get a 27mm socket. The FSM shows a simple check to just make sure there is no connectivity between the body of the sensor and the plug. I will be checking the condition of the plugs as well. My guess is they may be damaged because I wasn't paying attention when I was back there doing and repairing my drill bit mod :bang:
