Fridge update: it’s currently been running for 49 hours and has consumed 1012 WH which works out to 21 WH/h. At the rate it will run another 9 hours and leave me with 10% on both the delta 2 and the fridge battery. That’s 58 hours. Pretty good. The fridge with 100w solar would probably be all you need for extended camping.

I have an older Iceco from before they became overlandy. I find the Glacier much more efficient then that was. I didn’t do any math, but it seemed to last considerably longer on my River Pro. I can’t believe this new sale price. $600 w/ battery is crazy. I thought I got a great deal getting it 7-8 months ago at like $800.

EcoFlow update: Got my TrexBoxx drawers installed and am now trying to figure out how best to pack all my stuff. The Glacier fridge and Delta 2 battery both fit on the fridge slide out. I need to work out a final strap the components down but will roll this way this weekend on my first coolerless camping trip.

For the final mounting, I need a couple different straps and some more footman loops. I may make an aluminum bracket for the Delta 2.

On a side note, on Monday I loaded the fridge in the morning (in the 200) with only the 300Wh battery, drove home (2 hrs) and let it run while parked in the driveway all day. It ran about 9 hours and had 20% left. Just plugging it into the cigarette lighter socket would power the fridge and maintain the battery while driving.

Camped this weekend with the fridge and battery. The cigarette lighter plug kept the battery at 100% on the drive out. Worked great. Outdoor temps were mild (60s during the day and upper 30s at night) so not really a battery life challenge. Ended at 68% left on the Delta 2 and all 300wh on the fridge. I even made one batch of ice. That took 4% of the Delta 2 (about 40 wh). I didn’t think I’d really ever use the ice maker but having a little ice for a cocktail was kinda nice. The water drain on it sucks though. It’s just a short tube and no valve that’s hard to get to when the fridge is on the slide. If I’m going to use that, I’ll need make that better.

I had same thoughts on the ice maker, didn't think about putting a valve in there at the end of the hose...that would improve that dramatically.

Just got the ecoflow delta 2 and the alternator charger on a very early Black Friday deal for $600, I’ve been watching it for a while and it was hovering around $800 for that combo. I feel happy about abut this price.

I think I want to put a circuit breaker on it, should I get a 100amp? I know the fuse is 125amp.

Are you guys getting the full 800w in reverse charging? I want to keep lights on while the car is off.

$600 is a good deal for the combo. I haven’t installed my charger yet so can’t speak to reverse charge rate. What lights do you want to keep on with engine off?

Haven't got anything yet but I would think no more than 15-20amps max on without the car on for camping.

Thinking about about buying the Ecoflow Delta 2, Alternator charger, and 2x 100w solar panels. The extra power I will use in the truck are an auxiliary fuel tank, cell phone booster, Starlink mini, and CD player with backup camera.

Question I have is this the right power solution or should I just get a second battery with fuses?

your aux fuel tank (assuming you just mean the transfer pump) doesn’t need anything as far as exrta battery goes. Wouldn’t thinks the backup camera would either unless you are wanting to keep it running with the truck off for some reason.

For the cell phone booster and starlink, I think the delta 2 would be pretty ideal and so much easier to install and set up than a traditional dual battery.

Love the old school dedication to a CD player while adding a starlink to your rig. Packing some vinyl and running a turn table would even be better!

I have a Goal Zero Yeti 1500X but I like a 2nd battery under the hood as it's always with you, out of the way and can jump start your engine which my Goal Zero can't do. Not sure about the Ecoflow products when it comes to jump starting.

If you have the alternator charger it will “reverser charge” but I’m more sure that’s really a jump start. My guess is that it’s not.

For jump start backup, I use a NOCO which is awesome and not that big to carry.

Thank you, this confirms my initial assumption. Consider turntable incoming lol

Ive been eyeing the same setup and had some questions/thoughts.

Will the 200 series alternator care much about the extra 800watt power draw needed to quick charge the Ecoflow?

The DC-DC charger is said to get very hot during use. Might get annoying during summer trips.

So I have now completely installed it and man it's cool.
Idk how else to test the load on the alternator, but I do not see a drop in voltage while the car is running once I turn on the charger at 800w.
I am hoping it doesn't get too hot because it's behind my seat, I saw youtube videos that it doesn't get hot. However, you can throttle down the 800w to anything you want, so that could help with temperature. It also only takes under an hour to charge, assuming its not zero %.

I was more concerned about the cables getting hot, they are only 6awg. So I changed the 125amp fuse for a 100amp circuit breaker. I also think its smart to disconnect it if the battery isnt connected.
ALSO the LC200 is not as easy as most cars to run things under the carpet, it was a big pain.

Yes, that's right. It can also trickle charge your starter battery which is nice.

Got the Ecoflow Alternator charger this week as well packaged with a Delta 2 Max kit on black friday through a Costco deal. Delta 2 Max + Delta 2 Max extra battery and Alternator Charger all for 1499. I mostly got the Delta 2 Max for home backup (to make use of the 30% tax credit). I should have picked up a $375 Delta 2 as well for the truck, but I definitely have already blown the budget for tools and toys this season.

Mostly posting here because i haven't seen it mentioned yet. Victron has a new DC to DC box called the XS. It's 12 | 12 @ 50amps and is 98% efficient. Youtubers have showed that it runs considerably cooler than previous DC to DC chargers and it has all the cool Victron things than any of their smart devices have. If you want high amp charging and are connecting to a battery rather than a "solar generator", this is probably the new go-to top of the line device. Looks like it's about $330.

Just checked, and Enphase is finally releasing a modular/portable unit. Looks like about $1,500, which is pricey, but this should be a very capable and mature (integrated) system. Check specs and ingredients...v cool! IQ PowerPack 1500 portable energy system specifications | Enphase - https://enphase.com/homeowners/portable-energy/specifications
Looks nice. Hopefully the MsRP is just the launching point for a normally discounted price. $1/watt is a big ask in the current market. Also sounds like it’s only slightly smaller than a Delta 2 Max with 1/3rd less capacity. Of course unfair to compare pricing on a box that’s been on the market for a few years vs something not released yet.

I've seen this too, I think the XS is a great option for a dual-battery setup. Personally, since I am not overlanding that often the ecoflow made more sense since I can use it for home uses too. Kinda crazy how much more expensive a dual battery setup is compared to this, if you use quality parts and lithium deep-cycle batteries.
