*Edited, not trying to be an ass, but I think he confused his 300hp with crank versus awhp. Which is a huge difference on these trucks. Please don't expect 300awhp with your TRD SC.

The s/c work was done around 2000, now you're gonna make me dig through my files for the dyno sheet to see what it says, one thing I do remember well is that my memory is not as good as it used to be...

I like the little Coleman mini-bike on his trailer. That way he can ride out for help when his supercharger dies.

Interesting that it's a poverty pack with a GX tag on the back.

100+k miles on the s/c and no failures yet (knock wood). The tailgate came from a middle-east spec car, i picked that up at Specter after i taco'd the original. Marv could tell some stories that guy.

Nicely done video. This would be really good watching for newbies indeed. Dan is clear and explains things well.

Haha, must've hit the cutting room floor? And I did a whole IG post about those cool air coupler pacifiers made out of BRASS! So much better than the old way I was doing it.

He's on Mud, but I haven't seen him here in a while. @fj80toyman I think. It's a great looking rig in person, I remember cruising around through moab in it as a kid before a lot of these upgrades. That experience sort of formed some of my want to someday own an 80. It also introduced me to the Toyota phrase of "shunto" of which im now very familiar with.

I drop in as a silent observer a lot, so much to learn here. And, I couldn't possibly be that old!? Not sure if I should apologize for encouraging the addiction, or you're welcome for the lifestyle... btw, Calendar Utah traverse for the Fall.

No I own my truck, Dan has some amount of non financial investment in mine though I suppose.

Dan and I go way back whether he likes it or not. @fj80toyman that was 97 I think so its been at least a little while....my truck had just been built!

Your writing has gotten better on there in terms of the technical stuff you are commenting on. Some of the Toyota stuff is off sometimes, but otherwise, for a generalist site like that, good work.

@beno my recollection is that the tooling was bought by TRD from a company in San Diego called Cameron Concepts, who did a mediocre job of engineering and a less-than-mediocre job of marketing the s/c for the 1FZ. I've never heard of anyone that owned an original s/c from Cameron.
TRD had to do some significant re-engineering and tuning to get it to run right.
Wasn't Kazuma a made-up name by Toyota to market their s/c line-up?

That is how I believed it all happened. I test drove the Cameron Concepts truck. It had a very expensive price tag of $9K which included an intercooler and used some Rover parts for the air cleaner. Not a work of art. They wanted $4500 just for a port and polish on the 1FZ-FE.

@Skrewball has an 80 with the original Cameron Concepts supercharger, water to air intercooler too. I don't know how many miles are on it but the thing is still running strong.

Saw that yesterday in my feed. Good to see it was just a nice straight-forward build. The 80 doesn't need crazy stuff to be very capable.

I think in the video he mentions a Long Ranger Fuel Tank. I found this: Toyota Landcruiser 80-Series | The Long Ranger. It says it's a replacement, but I'm wondering if you can add it. I'd love to have a larger tank.

This is like the video version of ROTM, NICE!

Actually Long Range makes a replacement tank and an addition large tank that goes in the spares place. Be aware the replacement tank hangs down a couple inches below the frame.
