confusion is right. I wish there was a single pass that covered EVERYTHING!

I am not aware of any state or federal pass that allows AZ State Trust Land access. In cases where agencies offer to combine things, it is usually state parks & recreation and federal parks and recreation areas. AZ state Trust Lands do not fall into that category. Also, as a heads up, there is a note showing up that Golden XXX Passports MAY no longer be valid in lieu of USDA Forest Service passes.

Here are a few links that are the tip of the permit Hell Iceberg that is Arizona... but no worries, other states are catching up.

What GR said

So just to be clear and not get caught without the appropriate permit, I leave today to spend the next X days in GMU 22 for my elk tag. I've got a Tonto annual pass, do I need any other permit(s)??? I've skimmed these in the past without getting the sense anything else was required for my needs but....

thx

So what passes do you actually need, confused. The interagency/tonto and STL? Will that cover most of the desert and the forests north, aside from Rez?

Both is the safe choice

If nothing else you help fund both

One can view it as $.33/day to have the freedom to go where you want in the state with very little restriction.

Thx Phil, i usually get the family stl and tonto is available at the corner 7/11 as there is no annual with out the interagency. I don't mind spending the 100bucks or whatever but I'd like to do it once a year, one time and not piece meal permits. Aside from, mentioned BIA stuff when going thru salt river and res areas, the interagency/upgrade and STL should do it, yes? Anything else?

**what does suck is they want you to stick the tonto upgrade on your window. That's BS, what if i want to take the bike or a different vehicle.

I also get the Annual National Park Pass I find it makes me enjoy our NP more. I recently use it to get into Organ Pipe Cactus park on our way down to the recent Mexico beach trip.

The annual pass is a great pass, it has a ton of uses. I am always surprised how much it comes in handy when camping or traveling. It pays for itself if you ever use improved camp grounds. The 7 springs area is a real nice day or over night picnic spot.
