Trivial Pursuit! Sarah's least favorite game. Only makes sense that's it one of the few I like. She'll ask me Q's from a handful of cards if I'm driving (if she's awake) then she gets bored.

I'm down if you wanna get your TP on at an event @weejub. I get the feeling James and Stevezero might be worthy opponents...

I used to be great at trivial pursuit, but now I'd equate myself to be more of an SNL Celebrity Jeopardy level contestant

I'm not great at it. We play for dishes at family dinners :)

New jeep Uwharrie edition unveiled today. I think Al was driving it? Hard to tell

Does anyone know how to purchase an expiring domain name? It just expired two days ago and apparently there is a grace period the prior owner can re-register it. Then after the grace period, it is auctioned. If it doesn't sell at auction it will be re-released to the general public.

How can I get on the auction?

Who is the registrar for the domain, or what is the domain? I can try to find out for you.

Lincoln Now | A Collaboration In Sound | Lincoln.com

@JohnVee - is this legit, or just a marketing scam. I'm skeptical a car speaker is going to have the type of fidelity Gary Clarke Jr. is really looking for. Interesting either way.
If your question is "Is this the be all/end all?", then I'm pretty sure you know the answer. I don't know anything about Ben Fargen, but I bet that almost anybody who builds high end boutique GUITAR amplifiers would be the first to admit that they would have no business building an amp for a CAR. Would you trust that a guy who devotes his life to vacuum tubes can make a superior transistor amp?

That said, I'm sure the gear in the Lincoln sounds awesome. The fun will come when trying to repair or replace any of it. Just ask someone with a Mark Levinson system.

*All above are my own personal opinions, but it can be successfully argued that I don't know nothing bout nothing.

Right, I assumed that's where you found what you did. You were asking how to get in on the auction. That's the info I can't find. Wish I could help more.

Having done some car audio stuff in the past, and then having a 98 dodge intrepid es with the infinity sound system (which was the best factory audio system i had heard), i was expecting a LOT more from the Mark Levinson system in the 470. It does well with jazz music, but the various important things....staging, separation, imaging, etc are quite muddled. Frequency response is ok, but it takes a lot less volume to induce distortion. Mine wasnt abused before I got it, so my speakers arent blown.

I dont like the surround sound function. the rear speaker delays are too great, and makes you look over your shoulder like someones behind you. The stereo setting is ok, but the "EQ" leaves a bit to be desired. Treble, mid, and bass are all you get to change, along with fader and balance.

I should dig out my old IASCA competition disc, and see what the tracks sound like.

Most people have no clue what to listen for anymore; they're good as long as they hear sound (WAG 95% of us?). Not to mention that .mp3's sound bad by design. There really is no replacement for an LP on a good table and decent speakers (except for certain CD's that were produced by a certain few people who really cared, and some old recordings that were just done so well that they still translate to the CD medium). You'll hear things you never hear on your iPod regardless of how expensive your fancy new car stereo is. That's why I won't buy a Bentley (yeah, that's the ticket).

**disclaimer: I've never felt the need to own high end audio equipment. I will when I can afford what I want. Speakers will be the first purchase. I'll likely be dead before I can justify them. I also usually have a 50:50 split of good:blown speakers in any vehicle that has a radio because I just don't care - I pay attention to the road and the sounds around me.

Another request for the group:

I need an artist rendering of a business interior, something simple. I would prefer to use someone local vs shop it out online, so if you know anyone, let me know.

My audiophile dreams are made of vintage equipment with names like Marantz and McIntosh on them. Some day I hope my dreams will come true.

No need to complicate it for the newbs Steve. Just put it upside down on the front so you can look at your belly for reference
