I cant seem to find a one-wire alternator for a 69 F engine. I am in the process of rewiring the whole FJ40 right now and thought it would be a good time to upgrade the alternator. A couple of questions...

1. Anyone know where I can find one?
2. Is there some sort of universal mounting bracket that will allow me to use a GM alternator?

Any other ideas would be great!

Hiya, there's loads of info in the forum about alternator swaps. You can start by looking at the faqs at the top of the forum. Or... Search for gm alt swaps. Basically, you wire into the + of the battery with a fuse in between. You just get an alt that has the pulley width of your belt and the 12 & 6 bolt positions that matches the toyota bolt up. The 10si I run works pretty well but requires a higher initial rpm to kick it on. I'll probably replace it with a 130d alt that is a self starter.

Best, Ty
