I owned an 1997 80 new off the lot till 2012. This summer I brought another one. I don’t know if my perspective is skewed because I can’t remember how my original one felt, or that this one makes a lot more noise but with 215k and suspect maintenance history(to say the least) this thing absolutely zips compared to my original 1997. It feels like my v8 100 sometimes.

Who says you can't polish a turd, or at least breath life back into it.
