Here’s my setup...

ARB twin on a Wits End QPM feeding manifold to schrader valves at each wheel and air couplers front and rear.

I had a viair, I ran it too long and cooked the seal on the piston. Replacement parts are a PITA to get and cost close enough to buying a new pump that if you do have a problem with yours buy a new one.

As I have airbags instead of coil springs, I use my OBA compressor to raise and lower the truck everytime it leaves the garage, so I do run it a fair bit. After the Viair went I got a Puma 3/4hp continuous duty, its larger but fits underhood, and I like it better than the viair. It might not be as shiny, maybe noisier, but I wouldnt go back. If you fill tires up often enough, well maybe bigger and more robust is better. For me as I need air in the bags to have suspension it is a bit of an achilles heel so very important in my situation, also keep extra airlines and fittings on board.

OBA connections what are you guys using for a valve chucks?

Been testing a bunch of airing up stuff recently and came across the best valve chuck IMO. Its made by Jaco and provides a super tight fit with zero leakage and works on all types of stems including TPMS. The only downside for some it a live open flow chuck.

The best stuff I seen is made by swagelock. Dont remember part names off the top of my head, but it is industrial compared to this average commercial grade air fittings.

6000 psi.. yea, not 600

I agree with very good quality and great clamping force for industrial/commercial use but I didnt see a valve chuck? While testing options I reached out to Discount tire and they use a design by Haltec. If you have used them they are not one hand friendly when it comes to removing and because of size not TMPS friendly on many rims. With that said if you want a non flow chuck with a good seal that will never fall off it a good option.

Im using the haltec ones and haven’t had any issues so far. Those jaco chucks look like a great option, gotta get me one to play with.

Do you leave those valve/quick connects on the valve stem? (thinking about forces on the valve stem when driving at speeds.

The valve stems in the wheel wells are capped off to protect them when not in use. The haltec quick connects are attached to both ends of a 4’ 3/8 orange air hose.

I have to admit that's just about the nicest OBA setup I've seen. I'm going to steal some of your ideas. However here in the east, those valves in the wheelwells would disappear under a 3" layer of mud, so probably a non-starter. But the manifold and air chucks, very nice.

it’ll take some time. Sheet metal shop is only running two people. Down from 16 😳

Well hurry up dammit, I got no where to go and no where to be due to COVID-19....I’m going to have to start talking to my kids and wife if u don’t get some soon. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

All good, just let me know when they are in.

I looked at pics of the bumpers you have and I think on the front I would try to put it in the gap between the winch mount and the license plate bar. On the Slee rear bumper I think on one of the side wings would be a good location.

Excellent idea. Flat mount from Wits End and an easy, hidden location.

Install started.
