1997 Toyota Land Cruiser - 120k miles!

I think Tucker is working in San Jose next week. He'd probably check it out for ya. For a pint. :D

The California 80 does have lockers. You can see the dash locker switch in one of the pics. It may be mentioned in the description too.

Never heard of Irwin Chang. Does he have an 80 for sale?

Laura, here's a '95 in central Austin, with lockers. Even has an ARB.

Looks nice in the pics.

Pearl is gone!?! Congrats on the sale....I'm sure it was hard to let go. That was a one of a kind 62. What kind of price range do you want to be in for the 80 hunt?

don't you guys think the price is a little high??

$8500 seems a bit high to me, but not excessive. He does say "OBO" so there must be a fudge factor built into his asking price. If you like it, I'm sure you could work a deal.

For comparison, a friend here in Austin recently bought a very clean one owner '96 with factory lockers (no ARB), with ~140K miles on the clock, for $9400.

she is sold, yes, but she's still in my driveway. i have slept and cried in her for the past two nights :frown: i have never been so emotionally attached to a vehicle.. i got $500 over my asking price as well.
i'd like to stay as far under 10k as i possibly can.

i have less miles on my 62...
i think $7500 would be more like it

You can scoop up a nice one for way under 10K and I know for a fact that you of all people could get that guy down from $8500 ;) As Lee said, the seller has built in some wiggle room. More reference point, I bought that 97 40th for 6K with OME lift, ARB, sliders etc. I think it had around 165k on it, but no lockers. Definitely ask if it has had the head gasket replaced yet.

That listing is 2 weeks old. Money talks. If he still has the truck and it's as clean as he claims, I'd bet you could easily buy it for under $8K. No harm in offering $7500. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Be sure you check the status of the head gasket, if it hasn't already been replaced. Also ask about the PHH. It's a cheap fix, but a huge PIA to do.

In the photos, the front seat upholstery doesn't look stock. Maybe it's been reupholstered?

Do you have a Carfax account? If not, if you can get the VIN, I know someone who'll run it for you.

i remember... i ran into the guy that bought it from you.he had it for sale. he also said that he was still regretting letting go of that 40.
poor guy.. if he could only see it now
