Just purchased new slee springs and am waiting to purchase a set of shocks. Slee said they now run the sport shock with his 4inch lift and it's a dramatic improvement over the standard L shocks of old.

Any one on here have some real life feedback regarding these shocks? I really want to go with these since slee says the springs are designed for them, so it makes sense, but a set of bilstein shocks are also an option.

My goal with the lift is an expedition style with heavy loads and long distance travels, mix in a few hard core wheeling spots here and there.

Thanks for your feedback.

I have the OME 2.5 heavy with the nitro sport shocks and I highly recommend them!!

Slee 4" with Nitro Sport Shocks.

They are OME and I don't expect much. They are slightly better than the L's of days past.

I'm going to give the foam filled shock variety a try next.

I was looking at those Beno, but to be honest, i've finally come to the conclusion to trust the vendor, especially someone like slee. If he says the sport shock is the shock for that particular spring, i sure am leaning towards those.

I stumbled on an aussie offroad board a few weeks ago and there was some discussion on the iron man foam shocks. It seemed like only one "bloke" thought they were any improvement, most of the others said they are not worth it.

Point taken. I just like trying different things now considering my 80 is not my DD. If I don't like them, turn them around and sell them and save money for the Slee big money 80 series shocks.

No i understand i i made this post to get feedback, so not trying to shut you down at all. If you had been rolling on those foams i would be very interested to hear what you had to say.

I recently switched from old school standard length OME to the new Sport "L" version. The new design definitley provides a firmer feel than than the old. I wish they made them 2 inches longer than the L because I'm still running a mount spacer to get the amount of droop desired.

When I first installed my stock height OME coils, I slapped on a set of the factory Tokico shocks. Worked fine, but then I added the ARB, winch, and battery and those puppies up front were quickly whipped. I grabbed a set of the OME Nitro Sports for up front and that did the trick.

I've heard some describe them as "harsh." My experience is you only get that when hitting potholes, etc on the road. The progressive valving acts to really firm them up when that happens, but it still dampens, just such a big difference from normal performance that it can be a little "shocking" -- but it's exactly what you want a shock to do, if you ask me. Otherwise, they ride very nicely, smooth. Ours is an expedition build, too, so suits us.

I've left the odd combination in place because it works well. I've only had the chance for token trail work so far, so can't say that will hold up when we're fully loaded with the trailer, but seems to work based on what I've tried so far and saves a little $$, too.

Very happy with OME Sport shocks. Running OME springs, but the shocks work great. They do give a firmer ride than the previous model

I mentioned above how much I am satisfied with the Nitro sport shocks but I failed to mention my previous experience with my first LX that was exactly like my new one. I had an OME medium 2.5 lift on it with the old nitrocharger OME shocks and the ride was harsh and handling was poor. Now on my new one I considered all of the fancy lifts and shocks but since I'm cheap, I went with OME heavy 2.5 and the new nitro sport shocks. My caster correction is the same and I only got the heavies because I decided to invest in front and rear heavy bumpers this time. However, the bumpers are not installed yet so it's an equal comparison to the other truck. The ride and handling is night and day better, in fact I don't think it can get better!
