I need to loose 2 inches of height in the rear of my 74. I just installed a used OME suspension I got from J Cruisers in Armstrong BC that came from a parts cruiser he had, and the rear is to high. I realize the springs were designed to carry more weight, but I realistically won't be other than a few humans. So which leaf do I remove out of the 8 the rear has to lower it back to earth ?

Which leaf set did you get?

There are 3 different weights (but most commonly you will have the CS017Rx), and then there are A and B springs, where the A springs have 20 - 25mm more free arch.

well it's hard to say as the rear springs have some rust where the #'s are. All I can see is CSO 17 and perhaps an R as only the top of the # is legible but the next digit doesn't seem like it is an X . The rear fender arch is 2 1/2 inches higher than the front fender arch at the top of the tire's. The rear shackles are basically 90 degrees to the ground - the fronts closer to 45 degrees.

Hi All:

I would suggest removing 2 or 3 leafs from these rear spring packs.

Perhaps the 3rd and 4th leafs down from the top (main) leaf to start.

Some of the leafs in the spring pack will have clips riveted on that keep the leafs above aligned; try not to remove these leafs with the clips if at all possible.

Good luck!

Alan

thanks. I was wondering if I could take one from the rear and add it to the front as the front could be higher but that might be just asking for trouble.
