as the title states, i noticed this after installing the lift.

it looks as if my rear axle has shifted toward the passenger side a bit.

is this a biproduct of the lift? (panhards?) i was under the impression that the only alignment correction necessary would be the caster.

is this something that isn't normal? did i possibly install something wrong? (i made sure the correct springs went on the proper side. there isn't any lean.

Normal, need adjustable panhard

I bet the front is off as well
Quite normal. Adjustable panhard rods are available to move axle back to center, but, when you do this, then the axle is not centered when you stuff the suspension, so one side will rub differently than the other if you have tire/fender clearance issues. I left mine offset when parked, don't really car what it looks like sitting still. I need the max clearance available for my 37's on the trail. It has to be centered when I max the wheel travel. It does not affect the alignment, your rig will still go straight down the road. John

Does anyone have any pictures of what this looks like? I am planning on installing an OME lift on my 91 FJ80 soon and would like to know what this looks like.

Does the body look of center from the frame?

Thanks

It looks like the axle is a few centimetres right of centre because it is. Imagine this vehicle with taller springs. You can get a longer panhard or panhard drop brackets if you want it centred on flat ground but, like said before, what really matters is where the tires go when you stuff them.

How much lift did you use? Will this happen with a 2" lift? I hope this isn't a normal thing. I guess I am going to have to find out once I get mine installed.

It'll happen with any lift. The opposite happens when your stock springs sag or you load up your trunk. It's just geometry.

For any other guys like me that are new to this: also adjust that LSPV! I don't have a pressure gauge so I just moved it down 1/4in on the frame side. Hopefully sometime soon I'll borrow a pressure gauge and do it right.

Thank you,
Great info.

I have 2.5" OME mediums and 1" spacers on my coil springs for 3.5" of lift with stock panhards. You can't tell on the front axle but on the rear it's noticeably offset to the right by 2 or 3 cm most of the time. When loaded down for a trip it's barely noticeable. Mind you when I'm loaded I'm probably near to the weight suggested for OME mediums. Basically, I wouldn't worry about it. If it still bothers you after a few months consider getting adjustable/longer panhards if you rarely stuff your tires.

Would this cause the cruiser to pull to one side?

It won't pull but the steering wheel will be cocked to the left a bit. A re alignment will take care of it! Car drives great now. Gonna leave the panhards alone since it seems purely cosmetic to alter anything at this point.
