Rear springs are original, they don't bear load well at all anymore; a lot of displacement. I have 862s laying around. Free height should be quite close if not just a hair over stock correct? A bit better load rating?

Yes. Should work well. They'll be a little taller than stock. If your original springs are really collapsed then maybe an inch or 2 higher. They also have a heavier payload capacity.

Yes, as vegasfj40 said.

Be sure and soak the fasteners for the rear shock mounts extensively (like a week's worth) with PB Blaster or other juice. These tend to break if not handled carefully and you'll hate needing to get the broken stubs out, etc.

BTW, unless the front's have been changed previously, you'll find lots of improvement in doing the front with OME 861 coils.

A good option if you're on a budget is to freshen the shocks with a set of OEM Tokicos from the Toyota parts bin. Hard to beat the price for a shock that is designed for the truck.
