i just purchased an old man emu 2" lift kit. i am know wondering how my truck will stand-still in the process of being shipped out-cant wait. I wanted to go with the 3" lift kit but i spoke with a ARB representative and he told me that even with the caster correction bushings that the kit comes with, that i would still have to do some modifications to the control arms in the front-and even install longer brake lines-that sucks! so i had to compromise and go with the 2" lift to be installed with 10mm tirm packers in front and rear for addition lift. i was basically wondering if someone out there has a 2" lift kit in their fj80 and if you still get a lot of ground clearance and lift. i cant find a damn pic of a fj80 with a 2" lift-just 3" lift kits-if someone out there has a pic or a cruiser with a 2" lift, let me see..

Just to help clarify this for me what springs did you get? Do you have the numbers?

Tyler is running that exact setup. No accessories other than some pink curtains to weigh it down. Maybe he can post a nice side view.

I had that setup as well before it was shipped north. Because of the softer spring rate caster correction wasn't as noticable as when I went with the 850/863s

I ended up going with the heavier suspension because I am running 315s which required (at that time) a Kaymar bumper to hold the spare as well as I am towing a camping trailer in the summer. Since my long term goal was an ARB/winch up front. I decided to swap the springs. Tyler bought them from me years ago.

That setup was real comfortable and did allow me to tow quite easily but with the added bumper the weight was too much. With those springs I bought the light valved shocks, which I still have. With no accessories and running a 285 tire you'll be very happy with them. The heavier springs get a little harsh without the extra weight. Once I finaly got my ARB on the truck, it has really settled down and drives more ballanced now.

cool- hopefully with the comfort provided with the shocks i got, i will get the lift that i want with the 2" rather than the 3" kit i first wanted-Hey was wondering if the 2" old man man rates their shocks really are 2" of lift- because i read in a web site that for Models built after 8/91 add 20mm to lift heights that they advertise is this true- since you alredy have the lift kit installed

I went light/medium with mine with no regrets. My rig is lighter than stock :). No caster correction (yet).

I got a lot more than 2" of lift.

OME rates it's springs at full load for the spring. OME 850/863s will usually net you 2.5", while the 864s will put the rear end up about 5".
