So, had an issue with my Choke cable and needed to replace it. I wanted the Knob to say Choke like it does now! Got a quote for $184.00 from someone. I'm like what are you ****ing s. So in my Damaged Brain I says I can fix this. So I get started .
Disconnect choke cable at carb.

Remove center dash panel and undo nut holding cable knob.

Now i know what I need, so i go hardware store for a lenghth of .060 ss cable for a grand total of 57 cents WTF. Actually it was Free, because I knew the girl there . I come home and tear into the Old cable.

I detached the sheath and pulled the old cable out

I cut the end off the cjoke knob.

at that 1st groove in 2nd pic .

I then drill out the end of Knob wit .060 drill bit

Next, its time to install the new cable and crimp it

Time to re-assemble. Feed the new cable through the sheat

Reverse the order you went through in dis- assembly

 

[bobm]

Bring the new cable and save the old 1 to feed the new 1 through firewall.

Then feed new assembly torough mid panel! Dont forget feeding sheath throgh nut on back of panel like I did.

Feed cable through carb linkage 1st and pull sheath throgh firewall.

Then finish other mounting points and tighten nut on back of choke cable before installing mid dash panel . Make final adjustments ️
