The cans I’m looking for are more resent from the 2000’s and are a plastic material.

It's these. I bought 2 just to see what they are like and they are damn near perfect IMO. Could probably use a new gasket but the inside looks like it was made yesterday. Both of mine have a date stamp from 1952. Wayyyy cheaper than the current issue Wavian can. Also, the spout (aka Donkey Dick) fits perfect on the 70 year old version.

Nice! I believe those are known a ”NATO” cans? At least when I bought mine back in the 1990’s, date stamped 1979.

Whats your price on them?

Nato schmato... May as well buy them from Colemans.com honestly. I would be more expensive than they are because it would have to be worth my while. I posted up the link and a review just to be a dude. Hope this helps.
