Old School Electronics - need help (1 Viewer)

I purchased a Marantz 2230 receiver (1973 vintage) this morning and the left channel is dead. Anyone into old school electronics who might know how to look for the problem? I have the schematics for the power amplifier circuit, just not sure where/how to begin.

My step-dad is. He's prolly still got parts in the garage from the 70's to fix tha dang thing! I'll PM his email to you.

It may have a bad power amplifier transistor. I used to have a Sansui of about that same vintage and the ones on it would fail every couple of years. Generally, there are a pair for each channel. If one is bad, you'll need to replace both, preferably with a matched set (if they're still available).
